Frequently Asked Questions

What's a 'look'? What do I get with one look?

A look denotes the number of outfits you’d like to be photographed wearing during your headshot session. I personally like to shoot at least 2 looks during the session. However, what is provided to the client is what has been paid for.

Per 'look', client gets 6 high resolution images suitable for printing and the same six images for web use. These include a landscape and portrait 8"x10" photo, and a closer crop of the landscape Headshot. The corresponding black and whites are also provided.* Here is a sample of all the images.

All the photos are provided without copyright watermarks except for an additional 'bonus' 400x400px image provided for social media use. Regardless of which image you use, a credit back to the photographer is kindly requested, where possible. Please credit bashir anastas when using no logo images. (how to credit)
-------
* Black and whites are optimized for the best look for converting colors into shades of gray. While printing or 'automatically' converting color to black and white might work, it is best to use the provided black and whites which also have a 3% tint that provides a little warmth if printed in color.

How does the process of selecting photos work?
As the session progresses, we'll look at pictures together between mini-sessions (3-5 minutes) to critique photos and help with the next iteration. Once we have a handful of prospect photos, we move on to the next look.

A few days after the session, the client gets a minimum of 3, more typically 5-10 images to select from. These will have varying degrees of finish and may include one or more 'finished' photos but the client gets to choose whatever they like.

Can I schedule an asana or a family portrait session?
Yes, of course. An asana/yoga demonstration session with or without students can be scheduled at Adeline Yoga or at your location (or in nature). Pricing varies (see above) but is similar to a headshot session. Please contact me to discuss.

Regarding family portraits, please know that I specialize in headshot and photojournalistic style of photography. While I am happy to do your family portrait at a deep discount 'for fun', you may wish to consider a photographer that specializes in family portraiture.

As a side note, I do plan to get in the business of Senior/High School Graduation portraiture and would appreciate your referrals.

I'd like to schedule my headshot session. What next?
Contact me to schedule your session. I like shoot natural light (with minimal fill lighting) so depending on the time of year we'll likely schedule the session between 10am and 3pm.

Please read this pamphlet on preparing for your headshot. For best results, prepare and allow time before the session as discussed in the pamphlet.
